117 Regular Meeting November 9, 1987 Page 2 Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Regular Meeting held October 26, 1987. Mr. Brown moved for approval and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the fol- lowing vote was recorded: AYE: Brown, Farr, Guerra, Hernandez, Kissler. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Younger. Mayor Younger intrøduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Emergency Meeting held October 28, 1987. Mr. Hernandez moved for approval and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the follow- ing vote was recorded: AYE: Farr, Guerra, Younger, Hernandez, Kissler. NAY: None. ABSTAIN: Brown. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Emergency Meeting held November 2, 1987. Mr. Brown moved for ap- proval and Mr. Farr seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of the minutes of the Special Meeting held November 2, 1987. Mr. Guerra moved for ap- proval and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration confirmation of the City Manager's appointment to the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Farr moved to table this matter to the next Regular Meeting and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayon Younger introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Main Street Advisory Board. The Council made no appointments and directed this be placed on the next Regular Meeting. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Central Texas Higher Education Authority. Mr. Farr moved to appoint Dr. Paul Blanton and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Ms. Kissler moved to appoint Melba Vasquez Miller and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council discussed recommending that the CTHEA appoint a student to serve as an ex-officio member on the Board. Mayor Younger introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-31 OF THE SAN MAR- COS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD A FIREFIGHTER POSITION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Ms. Kissler moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
