<br />124 <br /> <br />Regular ~1eeting <br /> <br />November 9, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />The next item on the Agenda~ Item 16.A. regarding a discussion by <br />Ted Hindson and Irene Hindson was discussed earlier in the meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a discussion regarding the seating for the <br />Municipal Court and direction to Staff. Pews will cost approximately <br />$4,200.00 and chairs will cost approximatley $6,400.00. Chairs would <br />provide more versatility for use of the Courtroom, but Judge Allegro <br />stated pews would provide more professionalism and that pews were his <br />preference. It was consensus of Council to purchase pews. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced a discussion on whether or not the City would <br />continue city-initiated zoning changes and land use amendments. It was <br />consensus of Council to continue this process. <br /> <br />Mr. Brown moved the Council adjourn into Executive Session pursuant to <br />Article 6252-17, §§2(e) and (f), V.A.C.S., to discuss matters where the <br />duties of the City Attorney to the City pursuant to the Code of Profes- <br />sional Responsibility of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with <br />Article 6252-17; and lease of real property, respectively, and Mr. <br />Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (9:50 p.m.) <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved the Council reconvene at 10:54 p.m. and Mr. Brown se- <br />conded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Younger introduced Item 8.A. (4) which the Council earlier determined <br />they would consider after Executive Session, approval of an Ordinance on <br />second reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, M1ENDING CHAPTER 33 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY RENUMBERING EXISTING SECTION <br />33-11, REMOVAL FROM THE ROTATION SYSTEM, AND ESTABLISH- <br />ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Farr moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Mr. <br />Brown seconded the motion. Mr. Farr moved to. amend the Ordinance in <br />Sec. 33-11 to add the following language: "The Chief of Police may <br />remove a towing or wrecker service from the rotation system for any <br />proven violation of this Chapter or for any adjudicated violation of <br />the Texas Penal Code cornmitteed in the course of the business of provid- <br />ing towing or wrecker service or storage," and Ms. Kissler seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously.
