Meter sockets shall be labeled with the business address, house number, apartment number, lot <br />number or duplex number of the unit to which the meter socket is connected. <br />b. At the time of final inspection, the meter sockets shall be labeled with permanent labels that are of <br />such a quality that the readability of the labels will not be affected by the environment. A list of <br />acceptable marking and labeling devices is available at the San Marcos Electrical Utility Department. <br />(19) The service mast shall have at least two points of attachment to the building. One point of attachment must <br />be within twelve (12) inches of the service equipment. The service equipment may not be used to meet this <br />requirement. <br />Secs. 14.29314.370. - Reserved. <br />Sec. 14.371. — Permits; Licensing. <br />(a) A person applying for an electrical permit shall be: <br />(1) A licensed electrical contractor under state law: or <br />(2) Exempt under state law from the licensing requirement. <br />(b) A state licensed electrical contractor shall register with the City once a year and show proof of the state license <br />and insurance before any work is performed within the city. <br />(c) If a building owner is claiming an exemption under state law because he islal thing to do the work him or <br />herself. then the owner shall provide an affidavit to the building official stating that he owns and occupies the <br />building as his homestead. <br />Page 29 <br />
