(2) Provide for commercial general liability insurance coverage for the builder for claims for property damage <br />or bodily injury; and <br />(3) Be in a coverage amount of not less than $1.000400,000.00 for all claims arising in any one-year period. <br />(4) Residential contractors will not be required to carry liability insurance. <br />(c) This article and article 12 of this chapter do not alter the responsibility of any person performing any construction <br />activity for damages to anyone or for performance of a contract. Neither the Ceity nor any Ceity officer or <br />employee assumes any liability on the basis of an inspection activity or a license, certificate or permit issued <br />pursuant to this article or article 12 <br />Sec. 14.010. - Building accessibility. <br />(a) Building accessibility standards and requirements are governed by the Americans with Disabilities Act, the <br />Texas Accessibility Standards, and Appendix E of the International Building Code, 20115} Edition. <br />(b) Before a contractor applies for a permit for a building or structure subject to section 50) of the state Architectural <br />Barriers Act, the contractor shall provide proof that he has registered the construction documents with the state <br />department of licensing and regulation. Proof of registration consists of the project registration number from the <br />state department of licensing and regulation. <br />Sec. 14.011. - Construction noise. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to cause construction noise to be made between 9:00 p.m. and ^,.,d.,ight of b <br />m idii 7:00 a.m. if the noise can be heard from any public street or from a residence on private property <br />in the Cc-ity other than the property on which the noise is made. <br />(c) This section does not apply to: <br />Construction noise from construction activities performed by or for a governmental entity; <br />(2) Construction noise from emergency construction activities conducted solely to alleviate an imminent <br />danger to persons or property; or, <br />(3) Construction noise from construction activities that are required in order for the installation or performance <br />of certain systems or subsystems to meet best practices of building construction. This exception will apply <br />only upon the building official's prior written approval. To obtain the building official's approval a <br />contractor must provide written certification from a licensed professional engineer and any other <br />information the building official determines is required to prove that the activity is required for best <br />practices. Granting the exception is within the sole discretion of the building official. At least 48 hours <br />prior to the impending construction activity, the building official may require the contractor to provide <br />written notification to surrounding properties. <br />(d) A person who violates this section commits a misdemeanor and is subject to a fine of not less than $250.00 upon <br />conviction. <br />ARTICLE 2. - BUILDING CODE <br />Sec. 14.026. -Amendments. <br />The International Building Code 20135 Edition adopted by section 14.002 is amended as follows: <br />Page 4 <br />
