\ . \ 2: ~ :> § 34 C~ ~ ~= Ul ~ -- ~ ~ :.'¡-o .-' ~ ~ m ~ ~¡ ORDINANCE 1993- 69 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS¡ TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF SOUTH EDWARD GARY STREET BETWEEN EAST MARTIN LUTHER KING¡ JR. DRIVE AND ITS SOUTHERN TERMINUS TO PORTER STREET; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. ' WHEREAS, on May 11¡ 1993 the Planning Commission of the City of San Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the name of South Edward Gary Street between East Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and its southern terminus to Porter Street; and, WHEREAS¡ subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning Comrnission did, on June 8, 1993, approve the request and has recomrnended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on the 26th day of ,Tnly , 1993¡ regarding the request; and, . WHEREAS, all requirements of Chapter 25 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos pertaining to street name changes have been met; now¡ therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the street name of South Edward Gary Street between East Martin Luther King¡ Jr. Drive and its southern terminus is hereby changed to Porter Street. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage¡ and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
