Consider re-scheduling the May 19, 2009 Regular City Council meeting. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Porterfield and a second by <br />Councilmember' Couch, the City Council voted seven (7) for and none (0) opposed, to re- <br />schedule the May 19, 2009 meeting to Monday, May 11, 2009. The motion carried unanimously. <br />26. Presentation and discussion by the Minoritv Tourism Board on the vision and direction <br />of the Board. <br />Arturo Benavides, Chairman of the Minority Tourism Board, came before the Council to discuss <br />their vision and what direction they are going in. The Board has been discussing the different <br />guidelines and procedures they had been using. They feel they are on the right track, but they • <br />recognize they still have work to do. He presented a draft revised ordinance for Council to <br />review that essentially just removes the clauses referencing the Hispanic Chamber. Staff was <br />directed to bring the ordinance back to Council at the next meeting. <br />27. Discussion on engine braking by 18-wheelers within the San Marcos corporate limits, <br />and provide direction to staff. <br />Council briefly discussed engine braking and directed staff to research this and bring it back to <br />Council. <br />28.
