131 Regular Meeting July 27, 1981 Page 2 Mr. James introduced for consideration a public hearing and a Zoning Ordinance on first reading on 6.178 acres out of the J. M. Veramendi League No. Two, Abstract 17, located on River Road from Agricultural Open-Space District to Mobile Home District. Mr. James opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak for or against the zoning change request, so Mr. James closed the public hearing. The Ordinance was then read in its entirety, the caption which follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LO- CATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER ~9, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY CHANGING THE ZONING OF 6.178 ACRES IN THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. TWO, ABSTRACT 17, LOCATED ON RIVER ROAD, FROM "AO" (AGRICULTURAL OPEN-SPACE DISTRICT) TO "MH" (MOBILE HOME DISTRICT). Mr. James moved to approve the Zoning Ordinance on first reading and Mrs. Norris seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. James introduced for consideration a public hearing and a Zoning Ordinance on first reading on 4.15 acres out of the J. M. Veramendi League No. Two, a/k/a 925 Bugg Lane, from Single-Family Dwelling District to Commercial Use. Mr. James opened the public hearing. Mr. Mike Gossett, an attorney representing George C. Haines, owner of the property, spoke in favor of the annexation stating a lot of the area property was already zoned for commercial use. Mr. John Williamson, an adjacent owner to the property, said that he was not opposed to the property zoning change request. No one wished to speak against the zoning change and Mr. James closed the public hearing. The Ordinance was then read in its entirety, the caption which fol- lows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LO- CATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 4.15 ACRES OUT OF THE J. M. VERAMENDI LEAGUE NO. TWO A/K/A 925 BUGG LANE, FROM "R-i" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL USE). Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Zoning Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Cavazos seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. James opened the public hearing. No one wished to speak for or against the zoning change request, so Mr. James closed the public hearing. The Ordinance was then read in its entirety, the caption which follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES AND RESTRICTS THE LO- CAPTION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND LAND, DATED SEPTEMBER 29, 1980 (VOL. 54) BY ZONING 53.93 ACRES OUT OF THE JUAN MARTIN VERAMENDI SURVEY NUM- BER ONE, LOCATED ON I.H.35 SOUTH, FROM "AO" (AGRI- CULTURAL OPEN-SPACE DISTRICT) TO "L-I" (LIGHT IN- DUSTRIAL DISTRICT). Mrs. Norris moved to approve the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
