69 <br />Regular Meeting October 29, 1981 Page 2 <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration nominations to be sub- <br />mitted to the Hays County Central Appraisal District Board of Review. <br />Mr. William Beare of the Central Appraisal District asked that the <br />Council submit names to be considered by the Hays County Central <br />Appraisal District Board when they meet in January for the Board of <br />Review. Mr. Cavazos moved that the names previously submitted by <br />Council Members be submitted to the Central Appraisal District for <br />the Board of Review. These names are: <br />1. John W. Fitch, III, 721 Burleson; <br />2. Lunelle Anderson (Mrs. Carl), 105 W. Mimosa; <br />3. Annette Williams (Mrs. Charley), 743 Centre; <br />4. Yancy Yarbrough, 621 W. San Antonio; <br />5. Betty Wolverton, 827 W. San Antonio; <br />6. Gerald Farr, 305 Harvard; <br />7. Martin Juel, 1444 Highland; <br />8. W. B. Pryatel, 906 Hillyer; <br />9. Terry Lighthouse, 106 Oakridge; <br />10. Eugene Turner, 119 E. Hillcrest; <br />11. William Logan, 112 E. Sierra Circle; <br />12. Rose Brooks, 308 Magnolia; <br />13. Nell Burleson, 205 S. Johnson; <br />14. R. G. Phillips, 620 Franklin; and <br />15. Don J. Green, 725 Viola. <br />Mr. James seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The Council <br />indicated that in the near future they may submit additional names to <br />be considered for the Board of Review. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration approval of payment of <br />the retainage in the amount of $1,957.56 from the 1980-1981 Cemetery <br />Maintenance Contract with A & A Lawn Maintenance and Landscaping. <br />Mayor Craddock moved the payment be made to A & A Lawn Maintenance <br />and Landscaping and Mr. James seconded the motion. Mr. James then <br />moved to amend that $130.00 be withheld from the $1,957.56 to cover <br />the full amount of a permit fee which A & A Lawn Maintenance approved <br />for a non-perpetual burial after an Ordinance was in effect that the <br />permit fee would be $150.00 and A & A Lawn Maintenance had collected <br />only $20.00 on the permit fee in question. Mrs. Norris seconded the <br />motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Brown, James, Craddock, Kreczmer, Mendez and Norris. <br />NAY: Cavazos. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The Council then went back to the original motion that the retainage, <br />less $130.00, be paid to A & A Lawn Maintenance, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Craddock introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency <br />for the sale of property in the Katy Addition to Reed and Company, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE PRICE AND CONDITIONS <br />OF THE SALE BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF 1.20 <br />ACRES OF LAND OUT OF LOTS 2, 3 AND 8 IN BLOCK 2 OF <br />THE KATY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS TO REED <br />AND COMPANY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WAR- <br />RANTY DEED TO REED AND COMPANY; AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />Mrs. Norris moved for the adoption of the Ordinance and Mr. James se- <br />conded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded:
