Sec. 2.112. General powers and duties. (a) The minority tourism development board wills provide oversight fef s betA,een the-eitt, andthe-Sai Mafees-HispaniEChaffibefef GeR+nefee faf pfeg-nans for the expenditure of Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds to be used for the promotion of minority tourism within the city. (b) The board will: (1) Be responsible for developing the proposed annual budget of the Minority Tourism Development Board for minority tourism promotion programs, and make a recommendation to the city council on the budget and the proposed expenditure of the budgeted funds. (2) In consultation with city staff and the San Marcos Convention and Visitors Bureau. the Minority Tourism Development Board will develop guidelines for the expenditure of Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds with the goal of promoting a diversity of minority tourism and the hotel and convention industrv within the citv. (3) Monitor expenditures of tourism promotion funds provided to Chamber of Genif°re° recipients by the Clit-v minority tourism development board for conformity to the budget and the policies of the City and the minority tourism development board. (4) For the purposes of this Ordinance promotion of minorih; tourism shall mean the promotion of tourism and the convention and hotel industry in San Marcos by advertising. solicitations and promotional programs utilizing such things as diverse and special multi-cultural events to attract minority tourists to the City's unique cultural. historic. or natural resources. • ?J 0
