54 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 12, 1993 PRESENT: Mayor Kathy M. Morris Mayor Pro-Tem Betty Jane Kissler council Members * Billy G. G. Phillips and others. Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to complete a vacancy on the zoning' Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Mr. Guerra moved to appoint Rev. Herman Foster -and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an appointment to complete a vacancy on the zoning Commission. Mayor Morris moved to place the names of Joe castillo (on behalf of Mr. Moore) and Lorine Burleson in nomination. On roll call the following vote was recorded: CASTILLO: Hernandez, Hart, Guerra. BURLESON: Morris, Kissler, Plummer. Neither nomination received a majority vote of at least four, so tþe Council will consider this appointment later in the meeting when all council Members are present. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of eight appointments to the Main Street Advisory Board. Mayor Morris moved to reappoint Sonya Kibby (on behalf of Mr. Moore), to reappoint Bill Plummer to serve in Mayor Morris' stead, to appoint Phil Nabors representing the Chamber of Commerce, to reappoint Tony wilson and reappoint Johanna Hansen, which passed unanimously. The remaining three appointments will be rescheduled at the next council Meeting. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration confirmation of the city Manager's two appointments to the civil Service commission to complete two vacancies, as follows: appoint Kyev Tatum to complete the vacancy of the term expiring 1995 and appoint Betty Banks to complete the vacancy of the term expiring 1994. Mr. Guerra moved to confirm the two appointments and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. * Mr. Moore present at 8:00 p.m.
