City Council Meeting Minutes - Final November 2, 2015 Member Prewitt, to approve Resolution 2015 -154R. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 5 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro-Tem Thomaides, Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt and Council Member Hughson Against: 0 Absent: 2 - Thomason and Council Member Prather 18. Discuss and consider appointments to fill vacancy(s) on the following Board /Commissions: Arts Commission, San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth, and Parks and Recreation Board, and provide direction to Staff. Mimi Govea was appointed to the Arts Commission. Ms. Govea was nominated by Council Member Hughson. The nomination carried by the following vote: For: 4 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member 'Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Prewitt. Absent: 1 - Council Member 'Thomason, Mayor Pro -'Tem Prather Frank Contreras was appointed to the Parks Advisory Board. Mr. Contreras was nominated by Council Member Prewitt. The nomination carried by the following vote: For: 5 - Mayor Guerrero, Council Member 'Thomaides, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Council Member Prewitt, Mayor Pro -'Tem Prather, Absent: 1- Council Member 'Thomason Council Member Hughson cast her vote for her nominee, Derrick Lee. Staff will ensure that the Council is provided with a short list of names on all Board and Commission Appointments. A motion was made by Mayor Guerrero, seconded by Deputy Mayor Pro `1''em Scott, to confirm the appointment of Nicole Dray as a representative for San Marcos Independent School District to the San Marcos Commission on Children and Youth. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 5 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt and Council Member Hughson Against: 0 Absent: 1 - Thomason Abstain: 1 - Council Member Prather 19.
