a. Laying out soil borings in the field and coordinating utilities (electrical, water, <br />wastewater, sewer, telephone, and gas) with line locators. Obtaining permits from the <br />City of San Marcos for the drilling in existing streets. <br />b. Provide all necessary manpower, equipment and materials for drilling, logging and <br />sampling four (4) soil borings to depths of approximately 15 feet each. All bore holes will <br />be sampled using either Shelby tubes or split -spoon samplers as appropriate. Water level <br />measurements will be made in the open borehole during drilling and just prior to <br />plugging. <br />c. Field logging to include visual classifications and pocket penetrometer testing. <br />d. Plugging all bore holes upon completion of the drilling operations. <br />e. Provide traffic control during drilling. <br />f. Laboratory testing of selected samples for Atterberg limits, moisture contents, unconfined <br />compression tests, minus 200 mesh sieves and unit weights. <br />g. Geotechnical Data Report (GDR) which will include a generalized boring location plan, <br />logs of borings with geologic formations, description of drilling operations, laboratory <br />test results, water level readings and soil classifications. <br />h. Geotechnical Design Memorandum (GDM) which will include construction <br />considerations and recommendations for pavement replacement, backfill compaction, <br />pipe bedding, bearing capacities and other geotechnical parameters as requested by the <br />civil engineer. <br />i. A site reconnaissance of the project by the geotechnical project engineer to observe <br />pavement conditions and other physical features that may affect utility construction. <br />2. Subsurface Utility Locates: Subsurface utility locates will be provided as a Supplemental <br />Service, as required. The fee and scope of services for any subsurface utility locates will be <br />determined upon completion of the Preliminary Engineering 30% Phase. <br />Schedule <br />Refer to Attachment C for the anticipated project schedule. <br />City Responsibilities / Assumptions in Scope Preparation <br />1. The City will provide to WESTON all data in the City's possession relating to WESTON''s <br />services on the Project. WESTON will reasonably rely upon the accuracy, timeliness, and <br />completeness of the information provided by the City. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />
