E. <br />Re: Mckie Street Waterline Replacement <br />San Marcos, Texas <br />Dear Mr. l4amed: <br />CONSTRUCTION INSPECTION <br />LABORATORY TESTING <br />MATERIALS TESTING <br />As per your request, we are providing a cost estimate for performing a Geotechnical Investigation at the above <br />referenced project site. The purpose of the investigation is to determine subsurface soil and groundwater <br />conditions at the site and obtain samples for laboratory testing in order to provide data to the engineer for <br />underground utility construction. <br />It is our understanding the project consists of replacing an existing 2 -inch water line with a new 12 -inch <br />diameter water line. The water line is approximately 2,675 L.F. and will be installed through typical open <br />cutting and filling. <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />The scope of our services will include: <br />1. Laying out soil borings in the field and coordinating utilities (electrical, water, wastewater, sewer, <br />telephone, and gas) with line locators. Obtaining permits from the City of San Marcos for the <br />drilling in existing streets. <br />2. Provide all necessary manpower, equipment and materials for drilling, logging and sampling four <br />soil borings to depths of approximately 15 feet each. All bore holes will be sampled using either <br />Shelby tubes or split -spoon samplers as appropriate. Water level measurements will be made in the <br />open borehole during drilling and just prior to plugging. <br />3. Field logging to include visual classifications and pocket penetrometer testing. <br />4. Plugging all bore holes upon completion of the drilling operations. <br />5.
