What types of issues are most commonly dealt with by this board or <br />commission? <br /> <br /> <br />The Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals acts on appeals of the Building Inspector's interpretation <br />of the Code or the Inspector's decision regarding the removal of a substandard structUre. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5, Does this board or commission continue to have a viable role rel:lted to its <br />chHge or are there any duries that could be easily handled at the stall <br />level? Ple:J.se be specific, <br /> <br /> <br />With the adoption of the 1991 Standard Code (now pending at the Legal Depa.rtrnent prior to City Council <br />action), a new Board will be cre:!ted which win consolidate the Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals, <br />the Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals and the Plumbing Board of Adjustments and Appeals. The <br />new Board will be called the "Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals". The new hoard wi\1 consist <br />of seven members and two alternates. The Board will hear appeals to the Building Code, Plumbing Code, <br />Mechanical Code and Unsafe Building Abatement Code. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6. Would the addition of these duties require more staff hours or personnel <br />ch:J.nges? <br /> <br />The consolidation of these Boards will have a slight reduction on the amount of staff time spent preparing <br />for and staffing meetings. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />This Board is staffed by the Planning and Development Services Department <br />
