Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals <br /> Name of Board or Commission <br />.., Estimate the number of hours your staff spends preparing for and staffing <br />-. <br /> this board or commission. <br /> The Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals only meets only as necessary to hear an appeal <br /> or to recommend ordinance changes regarding the work which can be performed by "maintenance men". <br /> Approximately four to six hour of staff time is required per meeting. <br />3. Ple.:1se list the amount and types of information normally contained in the <br /> board or commission agenda packcts. <br /> Agenda cover sheet; minutes of previous meeting; staff report providing information regarding the <br /> appeal and a recommendation regarding the best interest of the City. <br />4. What types of issues are most commonly de::tlt with by this bo::trd or <br /> commission? <br /> The Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals hears appe:¡ls reg:¡rding the Building Inspector's <br /> interpretation of the Mechanica! Code; also hears appeals regarding the inspector's recommend:¡tion <br /> regarding the abatement of substandard structures. <br />5. Does this board or commission continue to have a vi::lble role rebted to its <br /> charge or are there any duties that could be e::lsily h1ndlcd 1t the St1tt <br /> level? Please be specific. <br /> With the adoption of the 1991 Standard Code (now pending at the Legal Department prior to City Council <br /> action). a new Board will be cre:¡ted which will consolidate the Building Board of Adjustments and Appeals. <br /> the Mechanical Board of Adjustments and Appeals and the Plumbing Board of Adjustments and .-\npe:lIs. The <br /> new Board will be called the "Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals". The new board will consist <br /> of seven members and two altern:¡tes. The Board will hear appeals to the Building Code. Plumbing Code. <br /> Mechanic:¡! Code and Uns:¡fe Building Ab:¡tement Code. <br /> 6.
