ATTACHMENT A <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />SESSOM DRIVE SANITARY SEWER REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Project Understanding <br />The work to be performed by Kimley -Horn and Associates, Inc. (KIMLEY -HORN or the Consultant) under <br />this contract will consist of providing Preliminary Engineering Services for the Sessom Drive Sanitary <br />Sewer Replacement Project. The project consists of the following improvements: <br />• Sessom Drive Sanitary Sewer — the replacement of up to approximately 3,000 linear feet of 12- <br />inch sanitary sewer line from Canyon Fork to N. LBJ Drive along Sessom Drive. <br />• Sessom Drive Shared Use Path Extension — extension of approximately 2,200 linear feet of 10- <br />foot wide shared use path from N. LBJ Drive to N. Comanche Street. <br />Basic Scope of Services <br />Phase A — Preliminary Phase (30 %) <br />1. Project Management and QA/QC: This task consists of performing all work necessary to provide <br />project administration, coordination with City staff, coordination and supervision of the project <br />team, coordination with other projects, and quality management so that project milestones and <br />deliverables meet schedule and budget constraints. <br />2. Meetings <br />a. Project Meetings: KIMLEY -HORN will prepare for and attend a meeting with the City to <br />kick off the project (1 kick -off meeting) and to review the 30% plan submittal (1 project <br />meeting). <br />3. Data Collection /Review <br />a. Review Reports/Studies/Drawings: KIMLEY -HORN will obtain and review reports, <br />studies, as- builts, and other data related to the project. A base map of the project area <br />will be developed using available information. The base map will include aerial <br />photography, topography, parcels, right -of -way, existing water, wastewater, and electric <br />lines from the City's GIS system, FEMA floodplain, and other appropriate data. The base <br />map will be utilized by the project team during Phase A of the project. <br />b. Site Visits: One (1) site visit will be performed to verify project conditions and familiarize <br />the team with the project area. One (1) site visit will be performed to analyze the location <br />of the shared use path and potential roadway realignments near Comanche Street. <br />4. Field Investigations <br />a. Topographic Surveying: KIMLEY -HORN will provide preliminary surveying services for <br />the project. A horizontal and vertical survey, based upon NAD 83 coordinates (State <br />Plane Texas South Central /Feet), will be performed. Survey will identify benchmarks, <br />bores, topographic features, creek cross - sections, apparent locations of existing utilities <br />(City and franchise) marked on the surface by DIGTESS, and appurtenances such as <br />manholes, manhole inverts, sanitary sewer cleanouts, valve lid elevations, vaults, top of <br />valve nut elevations, fences, drainage structures, tree canopies, existing easements, <br />exposed sanitary sewer pipe within the limits of the creek, etc. <br />b. Geotechnical Investigation: KIMLEY -HORN will provide a preliminary geotechnical report <br />for the project. Three (3) geotechnical bores will be provided within the project limits to <br />determine existing soil conditions at depths up to 25 feet. <br />
