<br />107 <br />Regular Meeting December 11, 1995 Page 2 <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY, FROM MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO PUBLIC 'FOR A 0.29 <br />ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 600 CENTRE STREET¡ AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Jody Crown stated this is the lot for the Food Bank. She <br />recognized the Food Bank supporters and volunteers present in the <br />audience. She stated John Diaz donated a sign to be placed on the <br />property. She asked when the Food Bank would receive funds from the <br />City and when the zoning and land use would be effective. They want <br />to break ground in April. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of <br />the Resolution and Mr. Cox seconded the motion. Mr. Guerra asked <br />Ron Patterson if this structure would conform to the neighborhood <br />and was advised architecturally it would and will meet all building <br />permit process requirements. Mr. Cox stated Ollie Giles expressed <br />concern for this project and the fact the Food Bank talked with <br />neighbors directly without going through her. The Food Bank tried <br />numerous times to contact Mrs. Giles and Mr. Patterson advised the <br />Council they worked diligently to receive the support of the <br />neighbors. Lamar Hankins, representing the applicant, was present to <br />answer any questions of the Council. No ohe else wished to speak, <br />so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for <br />adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore seconded the motion. Mr. <br />Moore stated Mr. Cayton is trying to limit vehicular traffic with <br />the types of businesses that will locate at this building. The <br />Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.98 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 310 WEST HUTCHISON <br />STREET, FROM "pI! (PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT) TO "C" <br />(COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) ¡ AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Lamar Hankins, representing Mr. Cayton, stated the ! <br />memorandum he provided the Council was his attempt to answer some of <br />the questions the Planning and Zoning Commission had, and that he <br />would be happy to answer any questions of the Council. No one else <br />wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing.
