<br /> 108 <br />Regular Meeting December 11, 1995 Page 3 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.29 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 600 CENTRE STREET, <br /> FROM 11M II (SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS <br /> DISTRICT) TO lip" (PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT); AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. Jody Crown was present on behalf of the Food Bank. Ms. <br />Crown said they tried to meet with the Dunbar Neighborhood <br />Association, and when they received no response, they went directly <br />to the neighbors and distributed flyers. They have worked with Jeff <br />Kester to fit into the neighborhood architecturally and want to be a <br />good neighbor. They would like to put up their sign to identify <br />their location. Lamar Hankins, President of the Food Bank, stated <br />they have a thirty-year lease on the building. He stated the <br />ownership could revert to the County but thinks it will stay in the <br />public domain. No one else wished to speak, so Mayor Morris closed <br />the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Zoning <br />Ordinance and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced a public hearing on an anne~ation, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, ANNEXING TO THE CITY A TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING 35.09 <br /> ACRES, MORE OR LESS, FRONTING ON THE NORTHWEST RIGHT-OF-WAY <br /> LINE OF THE 4200 BLOCK OF IH-35 SOUTH IN HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS <br /> (LOWMAN RANCH PROPERTY), THIS LAND BEING LOCATED WITHIN THE <br /> EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE CITY AND ADJACENT TO <br /> PRESENT CITY BOUNDARIES¡ APPROVING A SERVICE PLAN FOR THIS <br /> TRACT; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1995-96 <br /> FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR CITY PARTICIPATION IN THE <br /> TEXAS HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and <br />Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration fourteen Resolutions on <br />consensus. The Council removed Item 10.A. (5), adoption of a <br />Resolution, to be considered separately. Mr. Moore moved for <br />adoption of the remaining thirteen Resolutions on consensus and Mr. <br />Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The captions <br />of the Resolutions read as follows: <br /> Adoption of Resolutions: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) <br /> INTERMEDIATE SIZE AUTOMOBILE TO MCCOMBS P-GMC-J-E; AUTHORIZING <br /> THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF <br /> OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) CAB S AND <br /> CHASSIS TO PERMIAN AUTOS, INC.¡ AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING <br /> MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY¡ <br /> AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
