Gary Katz stated <br />he noted there was an item on this agenda to change the name of <br />Hutchison Street to Rio Vista Street. He stated he has worked hard <br />to clean up Haynes Street and would like the Council to consider <br />changing its name. He was referred to Ron Patterson to begin that <br />process. <br />Mr. Mooney introduced for consideration approval of one appointment <br />to the Human Services Advisory Board to complete a vacancy. Mr. Cox <br />moved to appoint Sandra Davidson, which passed unanimously. <br />Mr. Mooney introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br /> A 0.342 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1011 BLUEBONNET <br /> DRIVE, FROM "R-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br /> DENSITY]) TO "DP-1" (TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br /> DENSITY]) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Mooney opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak regarding this zoning change. No one did, so Mr. Mooney <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the <br />Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Mr. Moore <br />pointed out there was concrete across the lot line before rezoning <br />took place. Mr. Patterson stated there had been questions about use <br />as a duplex. The plans showed a second kitchen. Staff advised them <br />they could not proceed without rezoning. Mr. Patterson stated Dr. <br />Ault wanted to build this for his father. Mr. Cox asked if a <br />precedent was being created with this situation, and Mr. Patterson <br />advised this would be an abrupt transition and does set a precedent. <br />The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. <br />* Mayor Morris and Messrs. Guerra and Hernandez not present for this <br />meeting. Mrs. Huffman and Mr. Taylor not present for this meeting. <br />
