ENERGY MANAGLMENT REPORT SEPTEhdBER 2005 crrY OF SAN MARCUS <br />INS'T'ALL ENERGY SAVING DEVICES ON VENDING MACHINES <br />Install energy saving devices on vending machines with non-perishable food items to reduce the <br />equipment power usage. These devices reduce the power usage of the vending machines during <br />unoccupied periods. 'Chere are several commercially available devices that can be easily <br />installed on existing vending machines. These devices typically have a motion sensor, which <br />powers down the equipment after periods of inactivity. For example if the motion sensor does <br />not sense activity within 15 minutes the device will reduce the vending machine's power and <br />turn on once motion is sensed.
