City Council Meeting Minutes October 20, 2015 <br />Against: 0 <br />21. Discuss and consider an appointment to fill a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, and provide direction to staff. <br />The following applicants were nominated for consideration: <br />Kate McCarty - Nominated by Council Member Hughson <br />Douglas Beckett - Nominated by Council Member Thomaides <br />Johnny Finch - Nominated by Council Member Thomason <br />Following a roll call vote Kate McCarty received a majority of the Council <br />votes. <br />22. Consider an appointment by Council Member Thomason to the Comprehensive Plan <br />Oversight Committee to fill a vacancy. <br />motion was made by Council Member Thomason, seconded by Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Scott, that the appointment of Bucky Couch to the <br />Comprehensive Plan Oversight Committee be approved. Staff will big back <br />e Ordinance for this board in the Spring as requested by Co c' . The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7- Mayor Guerrero, Council Member Thomaides, Council Member Thomason, <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Mayor Pro -Tem Prather, Council Member Prewitt <br />and Council Member Hughson <br />Against: 0 <br />VI. Question and Answer Session with Press and Public. <br />David Short, San Marcos Daily Record, asked why the Council doesn't correct <br />inaccurate statements being made by members of the public during citizen <br />comment? Mayor Guerrero stated the he would do better to do it in the future <br />and urged his colleagues to do the same. <br />VII.
