Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 6;00 p.m. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing on proposed property tax rate increase. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval to set date, time and place for vote on tax rate increase (tentatively scheduled Monday, September 11, 1995, at 7:30 p.m. at Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Drive, San Marcos, Texas). Mr. Cox moved for approval to set the vote on tax rate increase for Monday, September 11, 1995, at 7:30 p.m. at Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Drive, San Marcos,- Texas, and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on second reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING EXHIBIT B TO SECTION 30-35 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO INCREASE SEWER RATES; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris moved to table the Ordinance to be considered September II, 1995 and Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The City Secretary inadvertently read the wrong caption in the consideration of the preceding Ordinance, so Mr. Cox moved to \ reconsider the correct Ordinance caption be read into the record and ". Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The correct caption was then read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE 1994-42 TO REVISE SEWER SURCHARGE RATES; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. * Messrs. Moore, Hart and Guerra were not present at this meeting.
