City Council Meeting Minutes May 3, 2016 <br />Against: 1 - Council Member Hughson <br />22. Consider approval of Resolution 2016 -63R, objecting to the inclusion of any portion of <br />the City Limits of the City of San Marcos in the proposed Emergency Services District <br />No. 9; consenting to the inclusion of territory within the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction of <br />the City of San Marcos in the proposed Emergency Services District No. 9; and <br />declaring an effective date. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Derrick, seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem <br />Thomaides, to approve Resolution 2016 -63R. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br />Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 0 <br />23. Hold discussion of proposed amendments to Chapter 90 of the City Code, Vehicles <br />for Hire, to consider adding a new Article 7 to establish regulations for ground <br />transportation services to include bus and charter services operating in the City. <br />Ken Bell, Fire Marshal, provided the Council with an overview regarding <br />amendments to Chapter 90 of the City Code, which would establish regulations <br />for ground transportation such as courtesy shuttles, charter services and party <br />buses operating within the City of San Marcos. Staff will provide a fee <br />schedule of lower fees and to possibly include franchise fees & license fees when <br />City of San Marcos Page 10 <br />
