City Council Meeting Minutes May 3, 2016 <br />Against: 0 <br />2. Consider adoption or direction to Staff on matters discussed in Executive Session. <br />Council discussed Appointee Evaluations and received an update on the Leah <br />Tract. No direction was provided at this time. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />3. Receive a Staff update, hold discussion and provide direction concerning the <br />construction of Fire Station #4 at 1404 Wonder World Drive. <br />Les Stephens, Fire Chief, provided a presentation on the construction of Fire <br />Station #4. Council provided direction to move forward with the proposed <br />design at a cost of $4,000,000.00. <br />6:00 PM <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Sara Lee Underwood- Myers, provided an invitation to the Council to go on a <br />drive around the Blanco Gardens Neighborhood with her. She also provided <br />an invitation to a Block Party that Calvary Baptist Church is hosting on May <br />21st, and lastly she asked for more help with code enforcement and police being <br />more visible in the Blanco Gardens neighborhood. She also requested reduced <br />speed limits in the area. <br />Lynnette Lombardo, addressed the Council as a member of CASA and <br />thanked the Council for their ability to seek funds from the city of San Marcos. <br />She provided the background of what CASA does and statistics for 2015 in <br />Hays County and San Marcos. She then requested that they be provided the <br />full funding of $45,000. She asked that the Council strongly consider funding <br />CASA. <br />Erin Wall, thanked Jude and introduced the new manager Nathaniel at Planet <br />K. She made comments in regards to the Junk Vehicle Ordinance they plan to <br />continue to work on. <br />Johnny Finch, spoke about item #26 and about reversing the back -in parking. <br />He suggested that the Council reverse it and go back to the way it was. It may <br />look good on paper, but the application is not what we expected. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, agreed with the previous speaker about the back -in <br />parking. She is concerned about what is going on around Tantra and the <br />City of San Marcos Page 2 <br />
