<br />61 <br />Regular Meeting June 12, 1995 Page 2 <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the <br />Commission for Women. Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Kathy Lara, Mr. Moore <br />moved to appoint Judith Koke and Mayor Morris moved to appoint Susan Hanson and <br />Julia Ramsey-New, which passed unanimously. Mr. Guerra stated he would like the <br />record to show his vote for Kathy Lara and Judith Koke only. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the - <br />Commission for Minorities. Mr. Hernandez moved to appoint Patricia Prado and Mr. <br />Moore moved to appoint Ginger Griggs, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris <br />requested the other two appointments be brought to the next Council meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Ethics <br />Review Commission. Mayor Morris moved to reappoint Rosemary Suniga, Sherry <br />Humphrey Benn and Lunelle Anderson and Mr. Cox moved to appoint Dr. Carol Booth, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the <br />Convention & Visitors Bureau. Mr. Moore moved to appoint Robert Mooney, which <br />passed unanimously. Mayor Morris thanked Mr. Guerra for his service as Mayor Pro- <br />Tem representative. { <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning <br />Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY <br />REZONING A 1.88 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 222 WONDER <br />WORLD DRIVE FROM "PD" PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO "LI" LIGHT <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one <br />did so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the <br />Ordinance and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. Mr. Moore asked if this was the old <br />DuMor Property, and Mayor Morris stated yes. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br />AYE: Moore, Mooney, Morris, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Hart. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1994-1995 FISCAL <br />YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR HISTORIC RESOURCES SURVEY FOR <br />THE DUNBAR AND EAST GUADALUPE STREET NEIGHBORHOODS; AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Cox seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Hernandez asked who was proposing this survey. Mr. Gilley stated the <br />City Historical Preservation Commission. Mr. Hart asked if this was to put money in <br />place and Mr. Gilley stated that was correct. Mayor Morris asked if this was a matching <br />grant at 50-50 and Mr. Gilley stated that was correct. Ron Patterson stated Ms. Knight <br />and Dr. Newlan were consultants in Historic Preservation and they were active in the <br />local Hays County Historical Society.
