<br />26 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting May 22, 1995 Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration an addendum, adoption of <br />an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 2-31 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS WITHIN THE <br />CLASSIFICATION OF CORPORAL TO 18 AND TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF <br />! POSITIONS WITHIN THE CLASSIFICATION OF SERGEANT TO 9; PROVIDING <br />FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; <br />PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Cox moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br />Hernandez seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley advised the Council June <br />1 is the expiration date of the corporal eligibility list from <br />previous teßting. Mr. Mooney stated there appears to be no <br />justification in the packet for these positions and thinks the <br />department is top heavy now. Staff previously provided backup for <br />justification and impact if not approved. The Police Department <br />has previously identified the need for these positions, and the <br />Council has previously discussed recognition of the need for the <br />positions. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Ordinance on emergency. . <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 26-17 OF CHAPTER 26, TAXATION, OF THE <br />SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES TO INCREASE THE PENALTY FOR <br />DELINQUENT HOTEL OCCUPANCY TAXES AND TO PROVIDE FOR COLLECTION <br />OF ATTORNEY'S FEES; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Special Meeting held May 8, 1995 and Regular Meeting held May 8, <br />1995, adoption of fifteen Resolutions, approval to authorize the <br />sale of City-owned property at 615 Centre Street, and approval of <br />expenditures from Tourist Account funds in the amount of, $918.00 for <br />two charter buses in connection with the NALEO Conference in Austin, <br />June 22, 1995 on consensus. The Council removed Items 9.B. (6), <br />9.B. (9) and 9.B. (15), adoption of Resolutions, to be considered <br />separately. Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the minutes of the <br />Special Meeting held May 8, 1995 and Regular Meeting held May 8, <br />1995, adoption of the remaining twelve Resolutions, approval for the <br />sale of property on Centre Street, and approval of the expenditure <br />from the Tourist Account funds in the amount of $918.00 on consensus <br />and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The <br />captions of the Resolutions read as follows: <br /> <br />Adoption of Resolutions: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />, TEXAS, AMENDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN INTEGRATED <br />I STREET SWEEPER TO NAYLOR SUPPLY COMPANY; AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR VENDING SERVICES TO A.B.A. <br />VENDING; AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF TRAFFIC RELATED <br />ITEMS TO PATHMARK TRAFFIC PRODUCTS, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASING MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
