<br />109 <br />Regular Meeting January 9, 1995 Page 2 <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four <br />appointments to the Airport Commission. Mayor Morris moved to <br />appoint Robert Northcutt and moved to place in nomination on behalf <br />of Billy Moore reappointment of Joe Searcey (out of City limits) and <br />reappointment of Gerald Hill, which passed unanimously. Only two <br />members can reside outside the city limits, and the Council thought <br />Pat Spearman lived outside the city limits at the time the <br />appointments were made. One additional appointment will be <br />rescheduled at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three <br />appointments to the Historic Preservation commission. Mayor Morris <br />moved to appoint Clementina Cantu as the Planning and zoning <br />commission representative, reappoint an existing member but move the <br />member, Nancy Scott, from the at-large position to the Downtown <br />representative position, and Mr. Cox moved to appoint Ellie Stewart <br />to the at-large position, which passed unanimously (see minutes of <br />January 23, 1994 for a change in appointments). <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four <br />appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Mr. Guerra <br />moved to appoint John Garrison and appoint Candeleria Hernandez, and <br />Mr. Cox moved to appoint Frances Emery and place in<nomination on <br />behalf of Mr. Moore the names of Daniel Wegner for reappointment and <br />Mo Johnson for appointment. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br /> HART: Wegner, Emery, Garrison, Hernandez. <br /> MORRIS: Wegner, Emery, Johnson, Hernandez. <br /> GUERRA: Wegner, Emery, Garrison, Hernandez. <br /> COX: Wegner, Emery, Johnson, Hernandez. <br />HERNANDEZ: Emery, Johnson, Garrison, Hernandez. <br />Mr. Wegner, Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Hernandez will serve as three of the <br />members. The Council requested a second roll call to consider the <br />names of Messrs. Garrison and Johnson as the fourth appointment, <br />which was recorded as follows: <br /> HART: Garrison. <br /> MORRIS: Johnson. <br /> GUERRA: Garrison. <br /> COX: Johnson. <br />HERNANDEZ: Garrison. <br />Neither nomination received a majority vote of the city Council, and <br />a third roll call resulted in a unanimous vote of approval for John <br />Garrison to serve as the fourth appointment to the Parks and <br />Recreation Advisory Board. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of four <br />appointments to the Senior citizens Advisory Board. Mayor Morris <br />moved to appoint Harvey Miller, appoint Janice Wagley and place in <br />nomination on behalf of Mr. Moore Mary Borm for appointment, and on <br />behalf of Messrs. Moore and Guerra Velia Cavazos for <br />reappointment, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three <br />appointments to the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mayor Morris <br />moved to reappoint Fred Guerra, Mayor Pro-Tem, reappoint Monica <br />Blackburn and reappoint Carol Allen, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER BY REPEALING THE <br /> DESIGNATION OF THE 300 BLOCK OF BLANCO STREET AS A ONE-WAY <br /> STREET; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING <br /> ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br /> PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
