Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER TO ADD A TWO HOUR PARKING LIMIT IN THE 900 BLOCK OF NORTH LYNDON B. JOHNSON DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Hart moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, UPDATING AND CLARIFYING CHAPTER 12, GARBAGE AND RUBBISH, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES; RETITLING THE CHAPTER "SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLABLE MATERIALS"; INCLtlDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS. Mr. Cox moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Mayor Morris moved to amend the Ordinance on Page 3, Sec. 12-13. (e), to read, "all bins shall be kept in good repair, with properly working, tight-fitting lids and plugs, and shall be kept reasonably clean at all times," and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which'was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, UPDATING AND CLARIFYING CHAPTER 13, HEALTH AND SANITATION, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS. Mr. Cox moved for approval of the Ordinance on first rea9ing and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Hart moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. The Council requested Staff check with other cities with cemeteries to ascertain if there is a perpetual care charge for mausoleums. The Council voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance on first reading. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REVISING AND UPDATING ARTICLE I OF CHAPTER 16, PARKS AND RECREATION, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING REGULATIONS FOR THE PLAYSCAPE AREA OF CHILDREN'S PARK; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS. Mr. Guerra moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Cox seconded the motion, which passed unanimously (Mr. Hart not present to vote on this item).
