Mayor Morris moved to <br />reappoint Lenora Giesen, reappoint Ofelia Vasquez-Philo, reappoint <br />Mildred Leggit and appoint Gladys V. Thomas, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of six <br />appointments to the Commission for Women. Mayor Morris moved to <br />reappoint Diana Arredondo, appoint Mary Maness and appoint Martha <br />Tatum, Mr. Moore moved to appoint Susan Tilka, and Mr. Mooney moved <br />to appoint Linda Coker, which passed unanimously. The remaining <br />appointment will be rescheduled at the next meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three <br />appointments to the Commission for Minorities. Mayor Morris moved <br />to reappoint Roland Saucedo, reappoint Linda Kindred and appoint <br />Judy Mazak, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of three <br />appointments to the Ethics Review Commission. Mayor Morris moved to <br />reappoint Frank Fuller, Mr. Moore moved to appoint Michael Nowicki, <br />and Mr. Cox moved to appoint Roxanne McKimmey, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval ~f seven <br />appointments to the Sunset Advisory Committee. Mr. Moore moved to <br />appoint James E. Scott, Mr. Mooney moved to appoint Beth Morrissett, <br />and Mr. Cox moved to appoint John Anderson, which passed <br />unanimously. The remaining appointments will be rescheduled at the <br />next meeting. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />LOT 12, BLOCK 1 OF THE FAIRLAWN ADDITION, LOCATED AT 1901 PECAN <br />STREET, FROM IR-1" (SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [LOW <br />DENSITY]) TO I1MR" (MOBILE HOME AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT) AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Cox moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration an addendum, adoption of <br />an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1993-1994 <br />FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS AND OVERLAY <br />OF PORTIONS OF HUTCHISON, EDWARD GARY AND SAN ANTONIO STREETS; <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. <br />Cox seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley advised there would be <br />$153,000.00 of street rehabilitation by the street crew to streets <br />that underwent water main repairs. The street will have the <br />existing surface, a layer of crushed rock with two inches of hot mix <br />overlay. In order for this to happen adequate base material must be <br />in place. Mr. Moore advised the County presently has a machine that <br />crushes material. The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the <br />Ordinance on emergency. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF HAYS STREET AND HAYS COUNTY ROAD <br />299 TO CAPE ROAD BETWEEN HIGHWAY 123 AND RIVER ROAD; PROVIDING <br />FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />
