Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if <br /> anyone wished to speak. Ollie Giles stated the advertising for --~-_.- <br /> the applications was confusing, and the bank refused further <br /> applications after 75 had been received. Mr. Patterson stated <br /> only four applications would be accepted and they were on a first <br /> come first serve basis. He stated the bank received an enormous <br /> amount of applications, and had to inform their customers they <br /> would not be accepting any further applications. However, if the <br /> bank did not find all of the applicants qualified, they would <br /> begin accepting more applications. Mr. Guerra stated the point <br /> Ms. Giles was making was the bank did not allow three full days <br /> of applications to be accepted. Ruben Rui z, State Bank & Trust, <br /> stated the applications were available for completion; however, <br /> they informed their customers they would probably find four <br /> qualified applicants from the 75 already received. Discussion <br /> ensued. Mr. Guerra stated the manner in which future advertising <br /> is presented should be clear to the public for all businesses <br /> involved. Ms. Giles stated all individuals shou~d be allowed to <br /> complete applications unless otherwise specified. Mr. Moore <br /> asked Mr. Patterson how many additional houses could be built <br /> before the present Revolving Fund is depleted. Mr. Patterson <br /> stated there was approximately $150,000 but it depended if the <br /> houses were sold at cost or subsidized. <br /> Mayor Morris introduced a public hearing and adoption of a <br /> Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FPTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE <br /> MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY, FROM LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL <br /> AND HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO PUBLIC FOR 9.42 ACRES <br /> OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2001 RIVER ROAD AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished <br /> to speak for or against the amendment. No one did, so Mayor <br /> Morris closed the public hearing. No one did, so Mayor <br /> Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Cox moved for adoption of ¡ <br /> the Resolution and Mr. Moore seconded the motion. Mr. Moore <br /> asked if there was an immediate use for this land. Mr. Patterson <br /> stated there is, and the land would be operating an entire <br /> wholesale business. Mr. Moore asked if the proposed use fit the <br /> classification. Mr. Patterson stated that was correct. The <br /> Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution <br /> with Mayor Morris abstaining. Mr. Guerra asked if the facility <br /> was owned by State Bank and was someone else requesting a change. <br /> Mr. Patterson stated the change was requested from the individual <br /> purchasing the land. <br />
