4 <br />Regular Meeting February 10, 1997 Page 4 <br />Cox: Doiron <br />Louis Doiron, Jr. received the majority votes. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of 1997 appointments to the Blue <br />Ribbon Bond Committee which is a temporary committee. Mr. Mihalkanin nominated Mr. <br />George VonderLippe who lives on Belvin Street; Ms. Hughson nominated Linda Coker, <br />John McBride, Margaret Glendinning and Jerri Martin. Mr. Hart nominated Steven <br />Hernandez and Jack Chaney and he stated he would bring more names to the next <br />meeting. Mayor Moore nominated Nina Pryatel, Loraine Burleson, Betty Jane Kissler and <br />suggested appointing a member from the Planning Commission within the City limits to <br />be appointed by that commission. Mr. Guerra stated his nominees had already been <br />nominated and will bring names to the next meeting. Mr. Cox nominated Ellie Stewart and <br />Gil Peyton and ,would bring the two remaining nominees to the next meeting. Mr. <br />Hernandez stated he would submit his four nominees at the next meeting. Ms. Hughson <br />suggested that at the first two or three meetings of the Blue Ribbon Committee that roll be <br />taken and if they have people not showing up, that they be replaced immediately. The <br />Council agreed. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to the Hays County <br />Infrastructure Committee. Ms. Hughson nominated Ms. Laura Huffman to continue serving <br />as the City's representative which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of five appointments to the Central <br />Texas Higher Education Authority. Mayor Moore nominated Lynn Ahrens, John Diaz <br />(reappointment) and Douglas Stewart (reappointment). Mr. Hart nominated Darrell Hill. <br />Mayor Moore stated Mr. Diaz and Mr. Stewart are sitting members eligible for <br />reappointment and are willing to serve again. Ms. Hughson nominated Mary Borm. The <br />Council voted unanimously for approval of the five nominations. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning <br />Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE <br />CITY BY REZONING A 10.73 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN <br />THE 1300 BLOCK OF RIVER ROAD FROM "R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) AND "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT <br />TO "P" PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did <br />so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mayor Moore stated this request was put <br />forward by LCRA for their San Marcos substation. Mr. Taylor stated that this was for <br />placing of a cellular antenna at that location.
