Mayor Moore stated this item needs to be tabled because the applicant no longer needs the mortgage. Mr. Guerra moved to table the item and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: ~fihalkanin. Moore, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. NA Y: Hughson. ABSTAIN: None. . (Mr. Hart not present for the vote). Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and );fr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval to bid city-owned property, being a portion of Block 6, Lot 9. in the D.S. Combs Addition, known as 3 17 Shady Lane. i\fs. Hughson moved for approval and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Moore introduced a discussion regarding consolidation of Hays County and Greater San Marcos Economic Development Councils. Mr. Hernandez stated the GSMEDC was approached from Hays County EDC to consider merging the two Boards. :\rfr. Hernandez stated at one time the two entities were not separated; however, the city "vas [eft out of some major EDC Projects in the past. Mayor );foore asked how much it would cost the City in the merger. Mr. Hernandez stated the county has a balance of 56,300.00 with no staff at this time. Mr. Guerra stated he is happy to see Hays County request this merger; however, 66% of the EDC budget belongs to the City and very little belongs to the County. Therefore, Mr. Guerra requested this be discussed at a rater date so the Council can discuss this during their budget process. Mr. Hart stated he wo:.rld like to hear the County's rationale. Mr. Neighbors stated the EDC needs more private sector support. -. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration the City Manager's Report. Ms. Huffman stated she would like to follow up on the Gunnarson permit issue. She stated staff would look into an emergency notification system when the river is involved. Also Mr. Taylor has received information so he can evaluate what the City can do to get the property back to the way it was before the situation occurred. Ray Stone stated the property belongs to Jean Rogers from Austin and some cars are using this for a parking lot. Mr. Taylor stated the City would look at the facts and sit down with i\fr. Gunnarson to discuss what can be done; however, the property owner will also be reSDonsible. . Mayor Moore introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had no report at this meeting.
