70 <br />Regular Meeting March 24, 1997 Page 2 <br />Ms. Hughson moved to amend Page 3- Priorities Item 4. to read "Continue the San Marcos River <br />Stewardship Program" and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for approval of the 1997-1998 City Council's Budget Policy <br />Statement. The Policy Statement is attached to these minutes. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDNANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 1.1 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2990 IH-35 SOUTH FROM "PD" <br />PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO "C" COMMERCIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did so <br />Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Zoning <br />Ordinance and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />FIVE TRACTS OF PROPERTY N THE THERMON INDUSTRIAL PARK, <br />COMPRISING OF 7.203 ACRES LOCATED N THE 100 AND 200 BLOCKS OF <br />THERMON DRIVE, THE 100 BLOCK OF BARNES DRIVE AND THE 2400 BLOCK <br />OF IH-35 SOUTH FROM "I" INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT TO "LI" LIGHT INDUSTRIAL <br />DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Ken Downing, <br />The=on Manufacturing, stated they requested this area be rezoned to Light Industrial because it <br />better suits the needs for businesses in the future. No one else wished to speak so Mayor Moore <br />closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. <br />Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDNANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 6.11 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF <br />RIVER ROAD AND CAPE ROAD FROM "PD" PRE-DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO <br />"PDD" PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. No one did so <br />Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Guerra moved to table this Ordinance until the next <br />Council meeting in order to have a full quorum and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption <br />which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />LOT 81, SOUTHEND ADDITION LOCATED AT 809 ARIZONA STREET FROM <br />"R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) TO "MR" <br />MOBILE HOME AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES.
