City Council Meeting Minutes August 2, 2016 <br />seconded by Council Member Derrick, that Ordinance 2016 -26 be approved. <br />Motion to Amend: A motion was made by Council Member Gregson, <br />seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, that Ordinance 2016 -26 be amended <br />to include the proposed building standards as they appear in Item #17. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br />Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 0 <br />Motion to Amend: A motion was made by Mayor Guerrero, seconded by <br />Council Member Hughson, that Ordinance 2016 -26 be amended by amending <br />6(a) to put a period after engineering on line 6 and striking the remainder and <br />6 (d) to put a period after flood on line 2 and striking the remainder of the <br />sentence. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 6 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson and Council Member Derrick <br />Against: 1 - Council Member Gregson <br />Main Motion: that Ordinance 2016 -26 be approved as amended, on the first of <br />two readings. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Guerrero, Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides, Council Member Prather, Deputy <br />Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, Council Member Derrick and <br />Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 0 <br />NON - CONSENT AGENDA <br />17. Consider approval <br />of Ordinance 2016 -25, on the first of two readings, <br />amending <br />Chapter 4, Article <br />4, Division 2 and associated definitions in Chapter 8 of <br />the Land <br />Development Code <br />to modify the standards <br />for exterior building materials <br />applicable <br />to non - residential <br />buildings in commercial, <br />public and industrial zoning <br />districts; <br />providing a savings <br />clause; providing for the <br />repeal of any conflicting provisions; and <br />providing an effective <br />date. <br />A motion was made by Mayor Guerrero, seconded by Council Member <br />Gregson, that Ordinance 2016 -25 be postponed. Staff will look at IH 35 <br />standards for other areas and get further input with experts in the area <br />regarding industrial zones, commercial and industrial differences, size of the <br />structures and major thoroughfares. Council created a subcommittee of <br />Mayor Pro Tem Thomaides, Council Member Hughson and Council Member <br />Gregson to meet with the Architect Alliance group and other subject matter <br />experts.
