City Council Meeting Minutes August 2, 2016 <br />would be interested to work with TXDOT to make a gateway. Council <br />requested to include in the agreement pedestrian crossings at the Intersection <br />including lighted crosswalks and increasing the time to cross at the pedestrian <br />crossing. Staff will address the intersection at Hunter and Wonder World by <br />increasing the timing at the pedestrian crossings. Staff and HEB to ensure that <br />the Transportation HUB is addressed. I EB will hold discussion with <br />Purgatory Creek Apartment owners to discuss a light in the area. Staff will <br />research the Purgatory Dam to determine what needs to be done to prepare for <br />the next storm of record. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 5 - Mayor Guerrero, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Prewitt, Council Member Hughson, <br />Council Member Derrick and Council Member Gregson <br />Against: 2 - Mayor Pro -Tem Thomaides and Council Member Prather <br />Main Motion: that Ordinance 2016 -27 be approved as amended, on the first of <br />two readings. TOOPM Receive a Staff presentation and hold a Public Hearing to receive comments <br />for or against Ordinance 2016 -26 amending the Official Zoning Map of the City by <br />rezoning 83.657 acres of land, more or less, being Blocks A, B and E out of the <br />Blanco Riverwalk Subdivision, located on the west side of North IH -35 between <br />Carlson Circle and Yarrington Road from "CC" Community Commercial District to "HC" <br />Heavy Commercial District with a "PDD" Planned Development District Overlay; <br />approving standards for said Planned Development District; including procedural <br />provisions; and providing for penalties; and consider approval of Ordinance 2016 -26, <br />on the first of two readings. <br />Shannon Mattingly, Director of Development Services, provided the Council <br />with a presentation on the request. <br />Mayor Guerrero opened the Public Hearing at 11:27 p.m. <br />Robert McDonald, 3735 Lost Creek Blvd, spoke in favor of the item. He stated <br />that he is fine with the building standards as proposed in this agenda, Item #17, <br />or any future standards, but he pointed out that this is the 20th month that <br />this has been sitting there. <br />There being no further comments, Mayor Guerrero closed the Public Hearing <br />at 11:28 p.m. <br />Main Motion: A motion was made by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Prewitt, <br />City of San Marcos Page 13 <br />
