Mr. Mihalkanin asked if it were possible to have the election in April. Ms. Womack <br />explained April was not an option offered by the Legislature. It was consensus of the Council to <br />leave in May. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, CHANGING THE DATE FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION FOR CITY <br />OFFICERS FROM THE SECOND UNIFORM ELECTION DATE IN EACH <br />CALENDAR YEAR TO THE FOURTH UNIFORM ELECTION DATE IN EACH <br />CALENDAR YEAR; ADJUSTING THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF CITY COUNCIL <br />MEMBERS TO CONFORM TO THE NEW ELECTION DATE; AND DECLARING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Hughson moved to deny the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Cox seconded the motion. <br />On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Hart, Moore, Guerra, Cox. <br />NAY: Hernandez. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:24 p.m. and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br />Ed aM in <br />ber <br />Ronald K.
