97 <br />Regular Meeting September 22, 1997 Page 3 <br />A 0.29 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 509 MILL STREET FROM "M" <br />SINGLE-FAMILY, DUPLEX AND NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT TO <br />"MR" MOBILE HOME AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration reconsideration of a Zoning Ordinance. Ms. Hughson <br />moved to reconsider the Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.25 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 517 WEST <br />HOPKINS STREET FROM "MF-4" MULTI-FAMILY DISTRICT (HIGH DENSI'T'Y) <br />TO "R- I" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING <br />PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mr. Mihalkanin filed a Disclosure Affidavit with the City Secretary and left the Council <br />Chambers. Ms. Hughson moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and to amend Section 1. <br />17 <br />Size: to read "0.25 acre, more or less" and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion. On roll call the <br />following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Hughson, Hart, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />(Mayor Moore and Mr. Mihalkanin not present to vote on this item). <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, DESIGNATING CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS AS VOTING DELEGATE <br />AND ALTERNATE VOTING DELEGATE FOR THE CITY AT THE ANNUAL <br />BUSINESS MEETING OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES TO BE HELD IN <br />DECEMBER, 1997; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ANY <br />DOCUMENTS INCIDENT TO THE DESIGNATIONS, AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion, and to <br />amend the Resolution to submit the name of Joe Cox as the Voting Delegate and Rick Hernandez <br />as the Alternate Voting Delegate, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read <br />as follows: <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, NOMINATING CANDIDATES AND SEEKING THE ENDORSEMENT BY <br />THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND <br />COMMITTEES OF THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and to nominate Billy G. Moore to the <br />Community and Economic Development Steering Committee and Joe Cox to the Energy, <br />Environmental and Natural Resources Steering Committee and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. <br />The Council requested a letter of recommendation from Mayor Moore be presented to the EENR <br />Committee on behalf of Mr. Cox to request he be appointee to the Steering Committee. The <br />Council then voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution.
