Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Ross Allegro <br />Ron Patterson <br />Carolyn Liner <br />Eddie Ortega <br />Terry Ewald <br />Bill White <br />Dan O'Leary <br />Larry mKendrick <br />Also Present: Scott Maier, Hector Mendez, Melissa Millecam, <br />Collette Duran, Phil Neighbor, Mario Gutierrez, Cheryl Pantermuehl, <br />Paul Buntyn, Ollie Giles, Ron Jager, Marie Jager, Kyev Tatum, Earl <br />Moseley and others. <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the Citizen comment period._ (1) Tom Beals <br />voiced opposition to a raise in water rates. He stated a lack of <br />water is not the fault of the residents, but rather the City's. He <br />stated a public hearing will be held at the San Marcos Library on <br />July 11 regarding water. He worked in pipeline construction for 35 <br />years and stated it would take at least two years to build a <br />pipeline, and the City needs to act now for water for the City. (2) <br />Dennis Lockhart of the Bethel Baptist Church expressed interest in <br />the CDBG grant funds. They have a concern for the youth and <br />community, and space at their church is limited. They need a home <br />so they can serve more church members. They want funds for the <br />purchase of property in the area. (3) Rev. Paul Buntyn of Abundant <br />Life Christian Church stated they have used the City's building, old <br />Christian Church at 222 San Antonio, for the past year, and during <br />this time the church has grown. They want to be involved in a youth <br />program for youth who need to be motivated through the Justice <br />System. They need land to build homes. They want to assist the <br />City. They want to purchase the church at a reasonable price, and <br />their desire to be there continues. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment <br />to complete a vacancy on the Main Street Advisory Board. Mr. <br />Mihalkanin moved to appoint Shirley Robinson and Mayor Moore moved <br />to appoint Terry Toler. On roll call the following vote was <br />recorded: <br />ROBINSON: Mihalkanin, Hart, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. <br />TOLER: Hughson, Moore. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment <br />to the Ethics Review Commission. Mayor Moore moved to appoint Paul <br />Buntyn, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the Senior Citizens Task Force Report. <br />Bailey Barton who served as Vice Chair of the Task Force stated the <br />report is the consensus of the Task Force. There was a lot of <br />communication, and there are raised expectations of senior citizens. <br />He requested the Council carefully look at the 38 page report, but <br />* Mr. Gilley not present at this meeting.
