Mr. Mooney moved to amend the Ordinance as read into <br />the record by Mr. Fisher and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. The Council then voted unanimously for adoption <br />of the ordinance on emergency. I <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING ARTICLE 3 OF CHAPTER 86, UTILITIES, OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CITY CODE BY ADDING DIVISION 3, ON-SITE SEWAGE <br />FACILITIES; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />PENALTIES. <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Mooney seconded the motion. The rates are intended to cover the <br />costs. The Council voted unanimously for approval of the Ordinance <br />on first reading. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 74.087 OF THE CITY CODE TO PROVIDE <br />EXCEPTIONS TO THE REQUIREMENT THAT STREETS AND ALLEYS BE <br />ABANDONED ONLY IN WHOLE SEGMENTS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />Mr. Moore moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and <br />Mr. Mooney seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of minutes of the <br />Regular Meeting held April 8, 1996, approval of two Ordinances on <br />second reading, adoption of three Ordinances on third and final <br />reading, adoption of thirteen Resolutions, approval of Change Order <br />No. 8 in the amount of $43,013.38 regarding the River Road Area <br />Improvements Project for replacement of a water main, approval for <br />an expenditure in the amount of $1,100.00 from the Tourist Account <br />for a 10' x 20' booth space for the promotion of tourism to San <br />Marcos during the Texas Municipal League Conference to be held <br />November 13-16, 1996 in Corpus Christi, approval of the sale of <br />City-owned property being (1) a portion of Lot 24, Weatherford <br />Subdivision No. 2 located in the 600 Block of Knox Street, and (2) <br />portions of Lots 5-8, Block 8 of the D. S. Combs Addition located in <br />the 500 Block of Valley Street, and approval to change the last <br />Regular Meeting date in May from its normal date of Monday, May 27, <br />1996 due to the Memorial Day Holiday on consensus. The Council <br />removed Items 10.D.(3), 10.D.(6), 10.D.(9), 10.D.(10), and <br />10.D.(13), adoption of Resolutions, and Item 10.E.(4), the last <br />Regular Meeting date in May, to be considered separately.
