Deliberation on the duties and responsibilities of a public officer; to wit: appointed <br />Board and Commission members. <br />The Executive Session adjourned at 6:29 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009. <br />4. Reconvene and Consider Action on Item Discussed During Executive Session. <br />The San Marcos City Council reconvened into regular session at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, <br />2009. The City Council gave direction to staff regarding the possible purchase, lease or value of <br />real property located in central San Marcos. <br />5. Invocation <br />Rabbi Kerry Baker, with Congregation Kol Halev, provided the invocation. <br />6. Pledge of Allegiance <br />The City Council led the assembly in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />7. Citizen Comments <br />Ted Breihan, PO Box 477, San Marcos, Texas 78666, provided written comment to the City is <br />Council. <br />Tyler Carlson, 136 Hunters Glen Drive, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in regards to engine <br />braking by 18-wheelers. He stated he is a truck driver and he feels the loud music and <br />subwolfers are much louder than engine braking. He also provided a letter to the City Council. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, 516 Harvey, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in regards to the KBR <br />contracts and to the redevelopment of Springtown Center. She encouraged the Council to no <br />longer have dealing with KBR, because of what they have done to our arm forces. She also <br />encouraged the Council to not support corporate businesses and support small business owners. <br />Randall Lavender, 109 W. McCarty Lane, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in regards to the <br />redevelopment of the Springtown Center. He encouraged the Council to keep San Marcos tax <br />dollars in San Marcos and to support the small business owners. <br />Bobby Sira, 317 Craddock Ave., San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in regards to the KBR <br />contracts. He encouraged the Council to not support any KBR contracts. He also encouraged <br />the Council to stop pet chipping. <br />Griffin Spell, 905 Hillyer, San Marcos, Texas 78666, spoke in regards to the KBR contracts. He <br />encouraged the Council to adopt an Ethics Policy that would not allow San Marcos to contract <br />with any contractor who has been brought up on Federal charges. • <br />RM072109 Minutes Page 2
