<br />16 <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting January 22, 1996 Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS¡ AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY, FROM MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL FOR A <br />0.75 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF ELLIS <br />STREET AND IH-35 SOUTH¡ AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />i speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Hernandez moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Cox seconded <br />the motion. Mr. Patterson advised Mr. Guerra this would be for <br />mobile homes. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Mooney, Hart, Morris, Cox, Hernandez. <br /> <br />NAY: Guerra. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />(Mr. Moore not present to vote on this item). <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as <br />follows: ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING <br />A 0.25 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED AT 201 ELLIS STREET, FROM <br />"I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) ¡ <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS¡ AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />: Cox moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. <br />Hernandez moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Cox asked Mr. Patterson if there is an <br />obligation for street work, and Mr. Patterson advised a plat will <br />come before the Planning and Zoning Commission and then to the <br />Council with possible options how best to develop these areas. The <br />Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AFFECTING PARTICIPATION OF CITY EMPLOYEES IN THE <br />TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT SYSTEM, GRANTING THE ADDITIONAL <br />RIGHTS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 854.202(g) OF TITLE 8, TEXAS <br />GOVERNMENT CODE, AS AMENDED¡ GRANTING TO CITY EMPLOYEES <br />ADDITIONAL RIGHTS AND CREDITS IN THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL RETIREMENT <br />SYSTEM AS AUTHORIZED BY SECTION 853.303, TITLE 8 OF THE <br />
