118 <br />Regular Meeting February 8, 1999 Page 3 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF LYNAE COURT TO REDBUD COURT FROM <br />ITS INTERSECTION WITH SIERRA RIDGE DRIVE TO ITS DEAD END AS A CUL- <br />DE-SAC; CHANGING THE NAME OF VALERIE COURT TO YAUPON COURT <br />FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH SIERRA RIDGE DRIVE TO ITS DEAD END AS <br />A CUL-DE-SAC; CHANGING THE NAME OF MELANIE COURT TO JUNIPER <br />COURT FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH SIERRA RIDGE DRIVE TO ITS DEAD <br />END AS A CUL-DE-SAC; CHANGING THE NAME OF BONNIE COURT TO <br />SENISA COURT FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH SIERRA RIDGE DRIVE TO ITS <br />DEAD END AS A CUL-DE-SAC; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Ms. Hughson stated she was abstaining on this matter. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing <br />and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public <br />hearing. Mr. Cox moved for approval of the Ordinance on first reading and Mr. Moseley <br />seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Doiron, Moore, Moseley, Cox, Mihalkanin. <br />NAY: None. <br />ABSTAIN: Hughson. <br />Mayor Moore introduced a public hearing for approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the <br />caption which was read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS APPROVING THE ABANDONMENT OF THE ALLEYWAY ADJACENT TO <br />LOT 1A, BLOCK 2 OF THE B.F. DONALDSON ADDITION LOCATED BETWEEN <br />THAT LOT AND THE UNION PACIFIC RAIROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY; APPROVING <br />THE CONVEYANCE OF THIS ALLEYWAY TO CAPITAL AREA RURAL <br />TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />EXECUTE A DEED; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no <br />speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Moseley moved for approval of the <br />Ordinance on first reading and Ms. Hughson seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked for the <br />selling price, and Mr. Taylor responded it is the City's policy to give alleys away that are not <br />used. Messrs. Mihalkanin and Cox and Ms. Hughson expressed some reservation with <br />abandoning the alley until a determination is made regarding the location of the cross-town <br />parkway. Mr. Cox requested a CART'S representative be present at the next meeting. On roll <br />call the following vote was recorded: <br />AYE: Mihalkanin, Doiron, Moore, Moseley, Cox. <br />NAY: Hughson. <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was <br />read as follows: <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, GENERAL OBLIGATION REFUNDING AND IMPROVEMENT BONDS, <br />SERIES 1999; LEVYING AN ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX TO PAY SAID <br />BONDS; PRESCRIBING THE FORM OF SAID BONDS; AWARDING THE SALE <br />THEREOF; APPROVING THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT; ENACTING OTHER <br />PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
