GIS should be an element of each departmental <br /> I plan and after those- plans are completed, the GIS Users Group vvill develop <br /> an implementation plan for the entire GIS project. The departments are to <br /> provide hardware, software, and personnel requirements for GIS. <br /> The GIS Strategic Plan recognizes that the city departments will have <br /> different GIS priorities. It is the goal of this plan to develop an <br /> implemèntation plan which will allow the departments to continue to build <br /> the elements which will develop into the GIS, but "within the guidelines in <br /> this plan. <br /> Completion: May 31, 1997 <br /> . <br /> Component #4: GIS Addressing. <br /> At this time, the city has acquired a grant from the Capital Area Planning <br /> Council (CAPCO) for the purpose of address development and maintenance <br /> to be used for 9-1-1 emergency operations. The Planning & Developmental <br /> Services Department maintains the addresses for the city while relying on <br /> other departments for address verification and maintenance.
