City Council <br />Meeting Minutes September 29, 2017 <br />right -of -way to the homeowners' association for the subdivision; authorizing the City <br />Manager to execute said agreement on behalf of the City; and declaring an effective date. <br />13. Resolution 2017 -153R, approving a real estate sales contract for the purchase of <br />approximately 20.61 acres of land located at 2240 Clovis Barker Road from James K. <br />Wise Real Estate, Inc. at a price of $2,468,872, plus associated closing costs, for a future <br />Public Services and Community Services Maintenance Facility; authorizing the City <br />Manager to execute all closing documents necessary to complete such purchase; and <br />declaring an effective date. <br />14. Appointment to fill a vacancy on the following boards: <br />A) Arts Commission <br />B) Parks and Recreation Board <br />C) Zoning Board of Adjustments <br />15. Appointments to the La Cima subcommittee. <br />16. Discussion regarding regulation of the distribution and display of magazines and <br />other printed materials. <br />17. Discussion regarding the US Conference of Mayor's Climate Action Agreement and <br />Friendly City Initiative. <br />18. Discussion regarding the establishment of an Innovation District in Downtown San <br />Marcos. <br />19. Discussion regarding the US Conference of Mayor's Compact to Combat Hate. <br />The City Council held discussion and asked questions regarding items on the <br />agenda for the October 2, 2017 Regular City Council Meeting, to wit Items <br />(1 -19). <br />Item # 5 Council asked that a discussion be brought back regarding <br />conversation and projects with San Marcos Consolidated Independent School <br />District. <br />Item #9 Council asked for an update on the funding of the Craddock median. <br />Staff will provide this information prior to the next Regular City Council <br />meeting. <br />Item #11 Council asked when an update would be provided on what the Youth <br />Commission has accomplished this year and what they are working on now. <br />Staff will provide an update at an upcoming meeting. <br />Item #15 Council asked about the financial incentives for residential <br />City of San Marcos Page 3 <br />
