ORDINANCE NO. 2018-01 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING SECTION 2.369 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CITY CODE TO REQUIRE THE CITY'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />BOARD ("EDSM") TO HOLD MEETINGS AT LEAST FOUR TIMES PER <br />YEAR, AND AT LEAST ONCE PER QUARTER; PROVIDING A SAVINGS <br />CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ANY CONFLICTING <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City's Economic Development Board has recommended that Section 2.369(d) <br />of the San Marcos City Code be amended to require that the board meet a minimum of four times <br />per year and to modify the current quarterly meeting requirement to clarify that the board shall <br />meet at least one meeting per quarter. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 2.369(d) of the San Marcos City Code is hereby amended as set <br />forth below. Added text is indicated by underlining. Deleted text is indicated by strikethroughs. <br />DIVISION 19. - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD <br />Sec. 2.369. Created; composition; terms; officers. <br />(a) The economic development board is created, composed of 12 <br />members consisting of 11 voting members and one non-voting members, eight must <br />be residents of the city, as follows: <br />No. of position/Representing <br />appts. <br />I Hays County (designated by commissioners <br />court and confirmed by council) <br />San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce <br />I Representative (designated by the chamber of <br />commerce and confirmed by the council, must <br />be a resident of the city) <br />CEO or senior management staff member of <br />1 large company (100+ employees) working in <br />the city <br />1 CEO or senior management staff member of <br />financial institution working in the city <br />
