The Youth Task Force put together the Summit. They advised the <br />City Council they wanted the Council to form a Youth Commission under the <br />Council and involve more of San Marcos in America's Promise. It was <br />consensus of Council this Commission be created. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the San Marcos Electric Utility Board (SMEU). Mr. Moseley moved to <br />appoint Fred Guerra and stated Mr. Guerra would resign his appointment to <br />the Drainage Utility Board if appointed. The Council voted unanimously <br />for approval of Mr. Guerra to the San Marcos Electric Utility Board <br />(SMEU) . <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />complete a vacancy on the Human Development Commission. Mayor Moore moved <br />to appoint Kathy Castoldi and Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Jeannie Lewis. <br />On roll call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />CASTOLDI: Moore, Moseley, Cox, Hernandez. <br /> <br />LEWIS: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Doiron. <br /> <br />Mrs. Castoldi was appointed to complete the vacancy of the ETJ <br />representative to the Human Development Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the Economic Development Council. Mr. Hernandez stated he will make his <br />appointment of a neighborhood association representative following their <br />next scheduled meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the Human Services Advisory Board. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Mo <br />Cannistra Cuevas, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the Parks and Recreation Board to complete a vacancy. Mr. Cox moved to <br />appoint John Morrisset, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of <br />a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A 1.464 ACRE <br />TRACT OF UNZONED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1625 POST ROAD AS "MF-4" (MULTI- <br />FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT [HIGH DENSITY]); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. <br />No one did, so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Cox moved for <br />adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro-Tern Mihalkanin introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS <br />AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING A 1.84 ACRE <br />TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 2200 BLOCK OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 35 <br />SOUTH, FROM "I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT); <br />INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br /> <br />Mr. Mihalkanin opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak.
