Scott Walker of 1022 <br />MLK stated the street is over a mile long and traffic moves too rapidly. <br />He stated the Engineering Department advised him there is not enough <br />traffic on the street to warrant stop signs. He disagrees with that <br />evaluation. Bob Walsh of 1029 MLK agrees with Mr. Scott and stated other <br />neighbors also think the traffic is too fast on MLK. He stated with the <br />paving work being done, he fears MLK will become a highway. He wants stop <br />signs placed to slow traffic down for the safety of children in the <br />neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Drainage Advisory Board. Mr. Mihalkanin moved to appoint Tony Daniels <br />of Sector 2, which passed unanimously. Mr. Hernandez' appointment of a <br />Sector 8 representative will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of one appointment to <br />the San Marcos Electric Utility Board (SMEU). No nominations were made <br />and this will be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mr. Doiron moved to reappoint Gloria <br />Salazar as the Hispanic Chamber representative, which passed unanimously. <br />Ms. Hughson's appointment of a representative from the Hotel Industry will <br />be rescheduled. <br /> <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to <br />the Human Development Commission. Ms. Hughson moved to appoint Lisa <br />Zapata (City) to complete a vacancy, which passed unanimously. The <br />remaining appointment of a representative from the ETJ will be <br />rescheduled. <br />* Mr. Cox not present at this meeting. Mr. Gilley and Ms. Huffman not <br />present at this meeting. <br />
