141 Regular Meeting April 27, 1998 Page 3 Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. There were no speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hart seconded the motion. Ms. Hughson asked if this was an extension of "R-1". Mr. Patterson stated Russell Smith will develop the property as four single- family homes. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Mihalkanin, Hart, Moore, Guerra, Cox, Hernandez. NAY: Hughson. ABSTAIN: None. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Zoning Ordinance, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING 0.379 ACRE TRACT OF PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE 1300 BLOCK OF DELMAR STREET FROM "R-1" SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY) TO "DP-1" DUPLEX DISTRICT (LOW DENSITY); INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mayor Moore opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak. Joe Schneider stated he was available to answer any questions. Ms. Hughson stated she did not want to expand a duplex district and would like to see it remain single-family. Mr. Cox asked how many other duplexes were in this area. Mr. Schneider explained there was one on virtually every corner. There were no other speakers so Mayor Moore closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion. On roll call the following vote was recorded: AYE: Hart, Moore, Guerra, Hernandez. NAY: Mihalkanin, Hughson, Cox. ABSTAIN: None. Motion passes. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE TRAFFIC REGISTER MAINTAINED UNDER SECTION 82.067 OF THE SAN MARCOS CITY CODE BY THE ADDITION OF MULTI-WAY STOP SIGNS AT THE INTERSECTION OF CHEATHAM STREET AND RIVERSIDE DRIVE; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. Mr. Hernandez moved for adoption of the Ordinance on emergency and Mr. Mihalkanin seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Guerra requested a stop sign be put up quickly at Dartmouth and Columbia. Mayor Moore introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1997-98 FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE HUNTER ROAD UTILITY RELOCATION PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
