RESOLUTION 2018-115R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN ELECTION SERVICES <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE HAYS COUNTY ELECTIONS <br /> ADMINISTRATOR, FOR HER PROVISION OF ELECTION SERVICES <br /> FOR THE CITY'S GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER <br /> 6, 2018 AND, IF NECESSARY, A RUNOFF ELECTION TO BE HELD IN <br /> ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM <br /> CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF <br /> THE CITY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City and the Hays County Elections Administrator (the "Officer") are <br /> authorized to execute an Election Services Agreement pursuant to the provisions of the Texas <br /> Election Code, Chapter 31, Subchapter D, for the conduct and supervision of the City's General <br /> Election to be held on November 6, 2018 and, if necessary, a runoff election to be held in <br /> accordance with State Law(the"Election(s)"). <br /> 2. The City and the Officer have determined that it is in the City's best interest to <br /> contract for the provision of election services necessary to conduct the City's <br /> Election(s). <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The attached Election Services Agreement the Hays County Election <br /> Administrator and the City to conduct the City's election(s)is approved. <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, Bert Lumbreras, is authorized to execute the Agreement on <br /> behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3.
