Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present,the work session meeting of the San Marcos City <br /> Council was called to order by Mayor Thomaides at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday,August <br /> 7,2018 in the City Hall Conference Room, 630 E.Hopkins,San Marcos, <br /> Texas 78666. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Council Member Gonzales had an emergency at work and was unable to <br /> attend. <br /> Present: 6- Mayor Pro Tem Lisa Prewitt, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Scott Gregson, Council <br /> Member Melissa Derrick, Council Member Jane Hughson, Mayor John Thomaides <br /> and Council Member Ed Mihalkanin <br /> Absent: 1 - Council Member Saul Gonzales <br /> 1. Receive a Staff presentation regarding the Climate Action Plan Initiative for the City of <br /> San Marcos, and provide direction to the City Manager. <br /> Bert Lumbreras,City Manager provided an overview and introductory <br /> comments and introduced Tom Taggart,Executive Director of Public Services <br /> and Jan Klein,Conservation Coordinator. <br /> Jan Klein,Conservation Coordinator, provided the Council with the Climate <br /> Action Plan Initiative Presentation. <br /> Ms. Klein reviewed the background of the initiative,greenhouse gas (GHG) <br /> basics and the purpose for GHG inventory. She provided the methodology <br /> and tools that the City of San Marcos uses, the Local Government Operations <br /> Protocol Version 1.1,and explained how it provides a standardized set of <br /> guidelines to assist governments to quantifying and reporting GHG emissions <br /> associated with their government operations. <br /> Ms.Klein reviewed the GHG emissions by department and what each <br /> department includes.
